Humility and the wondrous thing it is

On February 17, Eric was ordained and installed as a deacon in our church. I have been avoiding posting this because I have not had the time to sit down and think about what I wanted to say.

I am so very proud of Eric. Although, I don't know that "proud" is the correct word.
I am so very humbled by my husband. God chose me to stand next to Eric, united by His perfect plan. There are days that I feel very unworthy of this position. Eric is not perfect and I don't pretend he is, but Eric is a man of God. There is nothing more beautiful than that and I am drawn to him in a way that I cannot describe. Even as I type this post, I found myself sitting just looking at these pictures of my husband, at a loss for words.

God has called Eric and I rejoice as Eric takes his place as a deacon in His church to serve our Father and do His will.

I am excited to see the work that God has planned for both Eric and Bart as they begin their journey as deacons for Immanuel.

Beautiful.

Congratulations to Eric on his becoming a deacon! It is a huge blessing to be able to be used by the church, and to be nominated for such a position is a great honor.

When Matt became a deacon and elder for our old church, I felt very overwhelmed with pride and thanksgiving too. In fact, in our scrapbook, I posted the pictures and left HUGE spaces because I wanted to write out how I felt-then, never did because I couldn't find the words. Now, it is a little late! :-) So glad you got them out while you still could.

What a blessing it is to be married to such wonderful, respectable men.
The Lord has already used you amazingly in your church, and now more mightily than ever before. Bless you both!
