Proverbs 24:3-4

Sew Crafty Friday

Back in the saddle again!
After many nights of feeling sick to my stomach about dropping my sewing machine, my WONDERFUL 'mom' let me borrow her sewing machine.
I've had this idea to make some slip covers for our living room pillows, but just haven't taken the time to put it into action--- that is until yesterday!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that I can now take off these 'pillow cases' and wash them!!!
You won't believe this. I got the fabric at Walmart for just $1. It's a heavy upholstery fabric, but in a fabulous neutral shade. BARGAIN!
It only took me 15 minutes to sew, but the buttons took just as long to sew on (if not longer since I had so many little curious eyes and fingers "helping").
Kayla and I laughed and laughed as I was trying to stuff the pillow into the case. She thought it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen Mommy do. Krista joined in all the laughter even though she didn't have a clue what she was supposed to be laughing at! I got to laughing so hard it took twice the effort to get it in.
It seems like such an odd thing to build a memory on. This pillow makes me give a little chuckle every time I pick it up when I think of the fun I had with the girls--- and now it's not just an ordinary pillow filled with stuffing, but an extraordinary pillow filled with the giggles of the Bibby Girls.
I can hardly wait to make the other one and see what we will fill it with.

Thanks Rebecca, for giving me a challenge ;-).

Our New Addition

THE BIBBY FAMILY ADDED A NEW MEMBER....

Introducing:

Fishy Bibby

Luke got his first pet with full responsibility...
RIP: Goldie Fishy
...Who came as quickly as he went and lasted on 24 hours.

Fishy is Luke's second fish and now he understands what responsibility means. He also learned a very valuable lesson in what happens when you feed a fish too much food.
Thanks Daddy!

My Three

Messy Little Fingers

Everyday I wake up,
ready for the mess.
I look around
and think O' GREAT!!!!
they've already made a mess.

I wonder what they're thinking,
as they smear makeup on the wall.
Is it "Poor, poor, Mommy."
or
"This was cool after all"?

They touch and grab,
and mess and bother,
While I sit there saying "Please, just go find your father"

I wonder why they do it?
Day after day -Don't they know it's hard on me? I don't have time to play.

When I put them to sleep at night,
I breathe a sigh of relief.
At least right now I sit and enjoy the wonders of disbelief.
I look around at my house and think, "Didn't I just clean? Everyday I try and
try, but it's the same old thing.
I always stop and wonder
"Why, me Lord - O' why me?"
I've been blessed, yes I know -
But did you have to make it three?

I love my children dearly, as I'm getting out the rags.
I sweep and mop and clean all night,
praying tomorrow I won't be a hag.
I see those messy little fingers
on windows doors and walls -
Three little hand prints
reminding me how small.
Life isn't easy and kids are always testy, I clean up those messy little
fingers thanking God for little blessings.
The sun is rising, and we awake;
"Hurry, Mommy - Hurry, Mommy - It's time to get up and skate!
Please take us to the park and play with us outside.
We will be good, we promise, and fill your heart with pride."
My children, you are wonderful, and today I will take off - Not from a
corporate job - just from being a cleaning shop.
It took me three years to figure it out,
and now I share with you;
those messy little fingers
are the best things God's ever given to you.

A Patch of this and a Patch of that

The Tractor Patch

The Strawberry Patch

It's been so long ago,
when there were times of just my boy and me.
My son, my heart's second love,
I'll hold precious these days of just you and me.

How does your garden grow?

This is my pride and joy. I worked last year on separating and digging out old bushes (thanks to my hubby's muscles) to make room for new plants. This year it's been so much fun to see God's creation spring up and the His beauty magnified.
Most of the plants I purchased last year on clearance at Walmart after they had bloomed. I planted them not knowing if they would survive, but for $1 a plant it was worth it. I have 6 mums, 5 hydranga plants and all the pink lilies ($2 per plant). Beka was kind enough to share her Columbine, Bleeding Heart and Stone Crop this year and I can't wait for it come back next year!
The kids and I gathered car loads of rocks from the neighboring fields this year and they look awesome! (Not to mention the price was just right... free).
I can't wait to show you the rest and tell you about the plant exchange I hosted!

Sunday Morning Smiles....

Fun, Water and Friends

A friend is defined in many ways.
A friendship is something, that when found,
should be cherished!

Thank you, Lisa for opening your home and heart!

Hello June!

They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing springs.

Long Time No See

Whew! Where did May go? Goodness it just flew by.
Here's the re-cap:

For Grandpa's birthday I let the kids make their own gifts.
I picked up some craft picture frames and some raised paint from Crayola and let them have the morning to decorate.
I them put some recent pictures in frames and let the kids wrap them with tissue paper.

Luke was especially proud to give Grandpa his frame.

My Mom flew in from Texas and stayed a little over a week.
There are few pictures from her visit (sadly) since we were so busy.
She and I joke about her visits because we are both ready to part being so "pooped".
I was truly thankful for the extra pair of hands to help with my to-do list to get ready for Spring.
I'll have to post some pictures of our projects.

The girls had so much fun playing with this balloon.
