Nana (my mom) flew in Tuesday and we've been going nonstop ever since.
Here's what we've been up to:
Here's what we've been up to:
Planting some flowers...
Luke came running inside the other day excited about a "huge thingy" up in the tree.
I headed out thinking it was just a bug on the bark, "huge thingy" and found this...
a HUGE hornet nest just feet from the playset.

No more nest! Yeah for Daddy!
So Eric and I have been married for ten years and we haven't had a headboard since we lived in Married Student Housing. We've looked in magazines and furniture stores, but haven't found one that we liked and could afford. So I decided that while my mom was here I would work on our sad bedroom. Usually when we have company we just close the door.
Mom and I set out for thrift stores and the first one we went to we found a headboard for $35.00.
Queen size- check
Matching stain- check
Solid wood- check
Cheap- check
We got it home and started to attach it to the bed frame. It turned out to be SOLID wood and a little harder to install than we thought. At one point I left the room to take care of Luke, who needed some correction and when I came back I found this.......

I laughed so hard I almost had an accident! Since she wasn't going anywhere I seized the photo opportunity. She wasn't hurt, but couldn't get out either! We were both laughing so hard it took a couple of minutes to get the headboard stood back up again.
On Friday we took the kids to the park. We forgot the camera, but brought back some beautiful reminders of our fun day. It's amazing how pretty weeds can look.
Nana bought the kids a new kickball- which didn't last very long.
Amber got a hold of it and in one bite popped it.
:-(
We had a counter full of Roma Tomatoes that needed to be taken care of.
After getting a couple of tips we decided to just freeze them.
I was SHOCKED at how easy it was to remove the skins.
I dropped them into a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes and just squished the tomato right out of the skin! It was amazing! I will definately do more tomatoes next year!
It was such a fun family affair. I was able to give each one of them a job.
Krista didn't have any interest in helping with the tomatoes, but was happy afterward.
The Bibby's graciously offered for Josh to stay with them while my mom visited. Which has been SO nice since Josh doesn't drive. This enable us to get lots of things done and not had to stop in the middle.
An answer to prayer is that Josh has started working. A wonderful friend of mine and her husband own a lawn care business. Josh has started working for them. We were praying for a good opportunity rather than having to send him to work at fast food. He has worked several fast food places in Texas. The Guiney's have been so nice even picking up Josh. God has really blessed me with wonderful friends.

What a crack up! Krista leaving with her purse and cell phone. She knows what is important to bring along.
