So here's why I'm so far behind on the blog.
I had the idea to make these tissue paper flowers and hand them out at one of the local nursing homes for Mother's Day.
This was our first visit to a nursing home and the kids did GREAT!
We had a rough start trying to leave, with Luke having to be disciplined, but once we got to the nursing home, he changed his attitude.
Kayla smiled and was just as cute as ever.
I was so proud of Luke and his sweet manner. "Happy Mother's Day" he told everyone as he handed out flowers.
We went with two other moms:
Lisa Olivetti with Charlie & Isabel
Anna Larson with Lilly, Mariah & Paul
We were quite the scene with flowers and kids!

What a GREAT idea! I have been thinking ever since I took the kids to visit my Oma and Opa at a retirement/nursing home facility that I ought to make a tradition of it, but for the life of me, I couldn't think of what I could bring to make their day! I kept thinking about cookies and then the thought of killing someone who forgot they were diabetic and ate some. Yeah. Not pretty.
What fun!
What a wonderful idea and I'm sure a great experience to the kids. Teaching our children service/giving is so important!
All the Mom's were 'touched' by the 'hugs' on Mother's Day at Laf. RPC. Thank you so much to your Mom's group. They looked so pretty on the back table. "Hmmm". . . . thought all the kids; "when is kid's day???" They did a great job of remaining "hands off"!!! What a temptation!
