....Daddy played....
Err, maybe worked himself almost to death! :-)
While the kids and I enjoyed four more days in Texas, Eric decided it was time to build Luke's loft. He hammered, screwed, stained and varnished his rear-end off!
It looks PHENOMENAL!
He matched Luke's desk and dresser (which is now in the closet), perfectly. Ever thoughtful and planning ahead, Eric built the bottom to be finished off for another bed.

Luke was just as thrilled as I was. After we rearranged his room we decided it was time for a fresh coat of DuraClean paint. :-)
What an amazing Daddy. I can't begin to imagine the hours of work he put into building this bed in four days. The bed is a great reminder of the love Eric has for our son; a reminder of the skills the Lord has blessed Eric with; and a reminder of how blessed I am to have him for a husband and father of our children.

It's been FOREVER! Just wanted to say "hi" and that I haven't forgotten ya...in fact, I've enjoyed your postings immensely, albeit silently.
I remember you guys discussing this loft idea when we were out there visiting. Eric did such a GREAT job-I bet Luke was thrilled!!! It looks fantastic.
The loft bed looks GREAT! :)
Wow, what a great looking loft! I've been working on a bench since we moved in - Eric is putting me to shame!
