Yay for Fall!

I have to say Fall is my favorite season!
This is the first year I've been able to decorate!

I still have a couple of small pumpkins to put around the living room, but I wanted to post what I'd already done so that I'd have a record for next year.

Isn't it beautiful?!
Every time I look around it makes me happy!
Here's the best part, it all came from our friends the Guiney's!
The corn and little pumpkins came from their home garden!
I am super excited to try to grow it in our garden next year!

I found this old window at a garage sale last week for $5!
I repainted it blue (from turquoise) to compliment my kitchen.
I LOVE IT ... but can't help feeling like it needs a little something...
Got any ideas?

Happy 2nd Birthday, Krista!

Krista turned two on September 6 this year.
I am thankful for every minute, hour and day I've had with my "Doodle."
She has become the giggle in my heart and trampoline under my jump.
What a blessing!

There are those...

I started working at State Farm Insurance in 1999 and providently I met Jennifer, who had to check my work for my level advancement. We grew close when their son, Hunter was born.
I remember the day I stopped by her desk and heard, "Guess what Derrick wants to do..."
Together they started a lawn care business, ProLawn, followed by the Mulch Yard and now a Harvest Store.

There are those...

...that listen to your endless kid stories about everyday events.
...that open their hearts to whoever comes into your family, unexpectedly.
...give a 5 year old boy a memory he'll never forget.
...that you can share your worst day with and laugh together at the end.
...that bring you firewood in the middle of winter when your husband has the flu.
...that when you walk into their house, you immediately feel at home.
...that welcome you into their life, open their hearts and call you friend.
...that become an abundant source of comfort and blessing.
...that become friends.

Date Night

Eric and I went OUT!
Grandma and Grandpa were AWESOME and kept the kids overnight for us so we headed to Indy to the Colts Preseason Game.
WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!
We walked around downtown Indy and went to dinner before the game.
Being inside the stadium was surreal. We were on a high the whole way home.
WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!

Last Days of Summer

I talked Eric into one of my "drop everything and go to the park" ideas. He picked up Apple Chicken Brats and hotdogs for the kids on his way home from work, we loaded up in the car and headed to the park.
It was amazing to spend the evening playing together. It will be stashed away as one of my most treasured memories.

The chores CAN wait...

Proverbs 17:22 says, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

When was the last time you left the dishes in the sink, the laundry in the dryer and the toys on the floor.... to walk out to door for a couple hours at the park with your children?

Eventually the chores did get done, just not this day.

My Kayla Moment

I bought an electric ice cream maker at a garage sale last year for $4. I have been churning (get it) to take it out this year. We all had fun and the ice cream came out pretty good too!
