Play date.... Mom date

We picked up Luke from school last Friday and headed out to Burlington to see The Clifford's.
We had such a nice time visiting with 'Aunt Diane' and Caleb!
Buster, their dog, probably had to take a nap after we left. Luke kept him pretty busy.
Krista and Caleb look adorable together, don't they?!
We are hoping that they will be able to sell their house soon and move to Lafayette so we can get together more.

After our visit, I told Luke we would drive by our old house.
I never thought it would affect me like it did. I didn't shed a single tear when we left our old home two years ago. We had so much going on and I was so excited about moving to the new house, I guess I really didn't dwell on it. Driving back home to Battle Ground, I cried nearly the entire trip. The current owners were a young couple with a newborn, 2 month old baby, and graciously invited us inside. Memories flooded back so much that I couldn't help but get a little emotional. Luke's room was now their nursery, she even kept the ceiling that I had painted to be an abstract sky. Many of the curtains and stencils were still on the walls. This was our first home, were we spent hours side by side sweating and working to make it beautiful. It is where we brought Luke home from the hospital and where he took his first steps. Memories of bring Kayla home and we filled our hearts with twice as much love. The smells of old wood and country air were the same.
The owners were so nice and I was overjoyed to see how much they loved the house. We loved our old home and to see someone else start their family there was very touching.
What a wonderful day spent with friends and old memories.
